The 2023 OBE Middle School Combine is exclusively for student-athletes in grades six through eight (Classes of 2029, 2030, and 2031). Please be advised that this is a grade-based, invitation-only event with strict eligibility requirements.

In order to receive an invitation, a player nomination must be submitted for each respective player. Submitting a nomination does not guarantee an invitation.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE 2024 LOUISIANA MIDDLE SCHOOL COMBINE?

Welcome to the Louisiana Middle School Basketball Combine! We’re excited to have you join us. Here’s what you can expect throughout the weekend:

Official Itinerary will be sent with welcome letter to all chosen players.

Friday : October 4, 2024

1. Check-in:

Arrive at least 30 minutes early to complete registration and receive your OBE gear..
Bring all required medical documentation requested in the Welcome letter.

2. Physical Testing:

Vertical Jump: Measure your jumping ability with a vertical leap test.
Wing Span Measuring arm length

3. Photoshoot:

Photo To go Into OBE Wall of Fame.
Additional Media Package can be purchased if You Choose to but 1 Pic will be taken.

Morning Station Work: Skills

Shooting
Ball Handling

Defense

Lunch 1hr (Kids Are responsible for their Lunch, Not included)

Scrimmage Games

Participate in short, organized scrimmages to demonstrate your in-game skills and teamwork.
Coaches will be observing your performance, including your offensive and defensive play, court awareness, and teamwork. This is how and where we develop who makes the Allstar Game on Sunday.

Sunday : October 6, 2024

Sunday Will Be Exactly Like Sat with the Exception of at the End of Camp we will choose the Top 20 in Each Class (6th-8th) and they will play A All Star Game.

Tips for Success

Be Prepared: Make sure you’re well-rested and have eaten a nutritious meal before the combine.
Stay Hydrated: Bring a water bottle and drink plenty of fluids throughout the day.
Positive Attitude: Approach each activity with a positive mindset and a willingness to learn.
Listen to Coaches: Pay attention to instructions and feedback from coaches to make the most of the experience.

What can or what will the parents be doing on Friday since no games will be played.

Parents/players/coaches are encouraged to use check-in as a 'meet & greet' with fellow Louisiana Middle School Combine campers and families.

What am I to expect doing check in?

At check-in, players will receive their camp gear and able to buy OBE merchandise.

Will my Athlete have a opportunity to take a picture?

Yes every child will have a professional headshots taken in their camp uniform.

Can I purchase more pictures, and if so will I have to purchase them?

Yes you may purchase to take part in a "live-action" photoshoot, have 360º spin booth video sequences recorded.

What all Combine drills do my athlete get to participate in?

All the participate in camp will participate in combine-style testing and measurement sessions.

On friday evening for the registration how long should I expect to wait?

Please allow 1.5-2 hours to complete this process. Camper check-in is on FRIDAY ONLY and is MANDATORY. Campers can arrive anytime within the listed 3-hour window. Missing check-in may result in the forfeiture of the respective camp roster spot.
